Terms of Service

Backtest Software provides historical strategy simulation and reporting, not trading, brokerage, signals, or investment advice.

Last updated: August 15, 2026

The service

Each report applies the accepted strategy configuration and stated assumptions to historical data. The report is the purchased service whether the simulated result is profitable, unprofitable, or inconclusive.

Client responsibilities

Clients are responsible for reviewing their submitted rules and assumptions, supplying accurate information, and having the right to use any uploaded data. A configuration error supplied by the client is not a defect in the backtest.

Historical limitations

Backtests are hypothetical. They depend on the selected data, spread, commission, execution model, candle resolution, and other disclosed assumptions. They cannot guarantee future performance or perfectly reproduce every live-market fill or intrabar event.

Privacy and ownership

Clients retain their rights in submitted strategy rules. Client strategies remain private and are not used in our internal strategy discovery or strategy catalogue. Backtest Software retains its software, report structure, and service materials.

Payments, availability, and responsibility

Prices and the included test depth are shown before purchase. Eligible refunds are governed by the Refund Policy. We work to keep the service accurate and available, but maintenance and outages can occur. To the extent permitted by law, Backtest Software is not responsible for trading decisions, lost trading funds, or indirect losses based on a report.

Changes

These terms may be updated as the service develops. Material changes will be posted here with a revised date. Continued use after an update means the revised terms apply to later orders.
